12/11/2023 0 Comments Slik mini tripod 8555![]() Due to the small size and less-weight, it becomes suitable for travelling as well as for use as a chest-pod. probably not relevant to your automatic wind camera from what I read above.Slik Mini tripod With Pan Tilt Head is a compact and lightweight tripod having the size equal to a standard telephoto lens. Another 'cardinal' wheese when shooting 35mm film was to watch the rewind hand turn to ensure one has not torn sprockets with a vigorous wind-on. Cassettes are supposed to be light proof but they are often not perfect. Also shield the camera from direct sunlight when loading/unloading the cassette into/out off the camera. When loading my film cameras I always 'blanked' off three frames to avoid the problem. Film cameras often had provision for a cable release which gives a similar/better result with same 'no touch' precautions. If your camera has delay release, 10 second?,then use that and after pressing the trigger leave the camera untouched. They can be quite verstalie being sat on something steady or else held firml y against a wall or pole. and it provides that steadiness in low light and/or using a small aperture. I have a Slik 8555 which cost around US$25. If you do not think you will be using a full sized tripod then for shots where the light is low you should consider a mini-tripod. The non-VR version can be had for around $100 or so. The 18-55 DX lens is the kit lens that comes with most consumer grade DSLR's and is reportedly pretty good. You'll probably want something like a 35mm or 24mm or a zoom. If you do decide to get a DSLR, you'll probably find that the crop factor will be rather restrictive with only a 50mm lens. I bought a D50 about a year and a half ago and it had 54,000 shutter clicks on it (but it's still going strong). ![]() The D50 and D70 are decent DSLR's, but they are an older model and finding ones with low shutter counts is getting more difficult. ![]() Probably the only DSLR's that you'll be able to find in the $250 range that have an auto-focus motor built in are the D50 and D70, maybe a D80 if you are lucky. The D40,60,3000,3100,5000 series cameras have no focus motors that drive the d-series lenses that don't have a focus motor built into the lens. The only problem with the D40 is that it won't auto-focus with your 50/1.8. If it is too complicated, set it aside for later. The Ultimate Exposure Computer might be a good document to skim over. Yet, be able to recognize the idea of color changes occurring as a result of too long an exposure to light. For most of the time, you will not need to fuss or worry about reciprocity failure occurring. The color fails because it's been exposed to light energy for too long, regardless of the picture being over or under exposed. Color transparency film (slides) will have a tight range of accepting exposures, but will need to be exposed for a very long time before going into reciprocity failure. This means it'll show the color changes pretty well on some bulb exposures. Ĭolor negative film (for prints) will generally have a good range of accepting exposures, but can fall into reciprocity failure after a minute or two. The pattern of the lines implies the light leak, as mentioned above. This color change is called reciprocity failure. Radical color changes, like the red dog's head, are sometimes caused in color films which have been exposed for a long duration (often over a minute). The system that coordinates film speed, exposure and aperture is called APEX.
